IBL was first formed in 1947, trading from the East coast of England in Kingston-Upon-Hull where it developed storage facilities to handle and manage the importation of latex from the Far East. The Company then expanded by growth and acquisition into a number of allied activities, predominantly storage based and to this end, IBL Cold Stores was formed in Knowsley c. 1970 serving the local food manufacturing community which at the time included the likes of Birds Eye and St Ivel Foods to name but a few. The cold storage operation was created and grew with the progressive construction of temperature controlled chambers capable of operating at a flexible range of temperatures and today the facility boasts 16 chambers covering 110,000 sq. ft. offering around 12, 000 pallet spaces.
More recently the Company has invested in blast freeze and tempering facilities enabling it to offer a more rounded service to its customer base and along with its own in-house transport resources provide a door to door service for UK based food manufacturers, brokers and suppliers.
BRC accredited and Customs approved, IBL Cold Stores is led by an experienced management team that prides itself on being customer focused and solution driven.
